Description: “EMMY” was a character I developed during my final project on the Graphic Communication Design course at Central Saint Martins. “EMMY”, short for Empathy Bunny, was designed to be a mental health awareness mascot as I was exploring how cuteness can relate to empathy. Emmy’s ethos is to always approach mental health issues from a non-confrontational empathetic stand-point, choosing to be a point of comfort rather than a direct solution. I developed the character to create a series of fun illustrations, as well as a graphic novel that depicts a university student’s interactions with depression and Emmy. Emmy was later developed during my Master’s Degree as a character in my short-film, “Bunny”
