Media: Hand-Drawn Animated Short Film
Description: During my second year on the Graphic Communication Design course at Central Saint Martins, I was tasked to create a time-machine that was set to be opened 100 years in the future. I decided to create a short film titled “OBJECTS”, that showcased a series of everyday items such as phones, cigarettes, and even a toilet. I wanted to explore how our household items and the means in which we interact with them develop and change overtime, and how certain objects become items of nostalgia through neglect. The objects overlay with hand-drawn visual nods to 2019, such as notable celebrities at the time and newspaper headlines. The film was created using hand-drawn frame by frame techniques - the medium is supposed to contrast with modern 2D animation techniques and how analog techniques have been replaced with digital means.
